Singing is everybody’s birthright. Singing is not an “either you have it or you don’t” kind of thing — everyone can learn to sing, and find their place in the world of singing and music-making. Singing has always been part of every culture throughout time, and it brings us both closer to ourselves and closer to each other. Singing makes us healthier, happier, more expressive, and fulfilled.

Nancy’s Biography

LONGER BIO
Nancy Salwen grew up in New York city where she was raised on the folk music of the 60s. As a teenager she developed an interest in the traditional music of our culture and other cultures, and this continues to be a passion for her. A long-time resident of Keene, NH, she has sung with Animaterra, Halcyon ensemble, Keene World Harmony Chorus, and attends Village Harmony singing camps. Her love of community singing informs all of her teaching.

Nancy Salwen teaches singing to “non-singers” through her program, The Fear of Singing Breakthrough Program™, in workshops and lessons, and is author of the book (and online program), “The Fear of Singing Breakthrough Program: Learn to Sing Even if You Think You Can’t Carry a Tune!” She is a certified Music for People improvisation facilitator, and is a center director and teacher with Music Together®, the renowned early childhood family music and movement program, and teaches early childhood music programs in a variety of schools.
