I came across this powerful video today about a series of choruses in England for people experiencing mental illness – it’s part of a program is called the “East Kent Singing for Health Network”. I think this is a pretty extraordinary organization – I’m impressed with how they think about singing in England – community singing seems much more accessible there than here in the States and there’s a lot going on.

One chorus participant  in this film says, “It alleviates loneliness and enables people to build on their confidence and to feel socially included in the community, and maybe it could be a springboard to pursuing other avenues.” There’s a lot of meaning in that statement! Click here to learn more.
