February 27th, 2019: Mini-Lesson
A Little Theory

Hi Singers!

Here is this week’s Mini-Lesson…

The videos are excerpted from my 6-week Online Program, so you’ll hear me make some references to other lessons — it will be obvious that these were made in a different context. (It’s kind of funny actually.)

But they’re good lessons and I want to share them with you!

There are 3 videos here and they work together in sequence:
• The first one is about scales and octaves
(there is also an audio version in case you find that handy.)
• The second two are about the diatonic scale, using a keyboard for visual reference

Please let me know if you have any questions at all — post them in the FB group if you’d like. Any questions you have might also be questions that other people are having!

Note: We won’t have a live get-together this weekend, but I will be inviting you to one on the following weekend — I’ll keep you posted.

Enjoy!
Nancy

In the next two videos we’ll look at a piano keyboard and get some visual context to help with understanding scales, octaves, intervals (the space between one note and another), half-steps and whole-steps. Watch the videos a few times if you feel confused, and if you’re still confused after that, please click here to post on the Facebook page with any questions you may have. Or email me.
